Oak Street
Reimagining Historic Character for Contemporary Practice
Located within Roswell's Historic District, 16 Oak Street transforms an existing commercial building into a contemporary attorney's office while preserving its established relationship to the historic streetscape. Through Historic Preservation Commission approval and a full construction document process, the project balances preservation, hospitality, and modern workplace design.
Exterior improvements focus on refinement rather than replacement. Existing brick masonry is preserved and complemented by warm wood cladding, enhanced glazing, updated porch elements, and a carefully curated material palette. Selective modifications improve transparency and pedestrian engagement while maintaining compatibility with the scale and character of Downtown Roswell.
Inside, the workplace adopts a lodge-inspired hospitality concept, creating an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and client-focused. Reception areas, lounges, coffee hospitality spaces, conference rooms, and collaborative work zones are organized around a clear circulation strategy that supports both professional productivity and meaningful client interaction.
By combining adaptive reuse, thoughtful material selection, and historic stewardship, the project gives new life to an existing building while contributing positively to the character of Downtown Roswell.
